Brussels sprouts are the true vegetable MVP this Thanksgiving

Welcome to our third thanksgiving related posts! Today we will go over a quick and simple veggie side dish, the pan-roasted brussels sprouts in soy sauce by Bianca. If you have a huge crowd coming over this Thanksgiving, then this dish is both delicious and can serve a large crowd. Blow are the ingredients from Bianca’s recipe with a bit of modifications:

Ingredients

  • 4 cups brussels sprouts
  • 3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 onion

Directions

  1. Add three cups of water in a pot, place it on high, and have the water boil.
  2. Remove loose outer leaves of the brussels sprouts, trim the stem and wash them. Cut them in halves.
  3. Place the brussels sprouts in the boiling water and leave them in there for 5 minutes or until the brussels spouts have softened.
  4. Next strain the brussels sprouts.
  5. Bring a large pan to medium heat, add the oil, brussels sprouts, onion, and garlic. Let them roast for another 3-4 minutes on high heat until they are nicely browned.
  6. Then add the soy sauce and allow them to cool thoroughly.
  7. Enjoy!

Final Thoughts

When I asked Jeff about his final thoughts on the brussels sprouts, he gave me exciting thumbs up! I think brussels sprouts when seasoned right, are super delicious, and can be the true side MVP at your Thanksgiving dinner table!
